Question by Jessy: How are ballet shoes supposed to fit?
I just got new ballet shoes from discount dance supply. On the website, it had a size chart, and it said I was a size six. They are extremely tight on my feet. I can’t move my toes. It’s been a while since I’ve worn ballet shoes (I just wore jazz shoes to class), so is this how they’re supposed to fit? I’m usually a size seven or eight, so is it supposed to be tight fitting like that?

You should try to get a bigger size, Ballet shoes are supposed to fit snug but not so tight that you cant move. Only pointe shoes are supposed to fit like that!

I am very happy with these ballet shoes, I got them for my 4 yr old who is just beggining. The traps needs to be sized to the childs foot and stitched in place but this is a good thing- it actually made the shoes snug and hug her feet. There is a lot of room to grow but with bow tie sinched and the strapes fitted to her feet they fit perfect. I can tell already that she can probubly wear these for a bit- if I take the stich out and unsinch the bow tie these may actually last another shoe size. I bought a sice 11.5 little kid and my daughter wears a 11 sneaker and these will prob. last through her being a size 12sneaker.

these ballet slippers… my first year doing ballet for a 4 year old. they don’t come ready to slip on, you have to sew the straps down where you want them, but it is worth it, they allow more flexibility in the foot, I LOVE THESE!!
