I’m a much better lead than rhythm guitarist but I really want to learn how to play rhythm. What are some good songs for me to learn some rhythm guitar? I listen to mostly classic rock.
Maybe something from Creedence Clearwater Revival or The Rolling Stones?
AC/DC – Malcolm Young
This is rock rhythm 101, not to say it’s so simple it sucks. Malcolm is an amazing guitarist. When you hear a song like "Back In Black", the power really comes from the rhythm guitar.
Listen to a few Metallica songs like "Enter Sandman" the rhythm guitar is really where all the balls and feeling comes from.
As far as practice, start off with something simplier like
AC/DC – T.N.T. great groove and rhythm, lots of power and attitude, great song
And if you really want a challenge try
AC/DC – It’s a Long Way To The Top…(If You Wanna Rock and Roll)
This song is really tricky. It’s based around a single power chord, but there are so many small nuances in it, specific pauses, and a unique groove.
That’s what playing rhythm is all about, laying down a SOLID foundation. I honestly believe that in any 2 guitar band, the rhythm guitarist is generally more skilled than the soloist.
Corona – Rhythm of the Night
Classic 90′s dance hit

This is at Tex Ritters Ranch Party TV Show, I still don’t know when, but somewhere around 1955-1958.

What is difference between them? And what is the meaning of tempo? What about rhythm? I always get them mixed up.
rhythm is the actual pattern of the beat. the tempo is how fast you’re going.
