Question by anonymous: Jazz Shoes?
I just bought new Capezio jazz shoes. The model number is CG05. I bought then because I wore a hole in my other pair. I should have got them sooner but I didn’t have enough time. I have a competition on sunday. What I need to know is if anyone has any tips for breaking them in. My old ones soles were really worn down and the new ones fell awkward to me. Is it possible to wear the soles down in a short amount of time?

Well, I looked the shoes up online, and it says you bought the split sole ones, right? Then there shouldn’t be a lot you need to do to break in your shoes, maybe you just need to practice a few times in them to get the feel of the shoes. I have a similar pair of shoes, and I think they just take some getting used to. You can just bend the shoes in half (so the pad under the toe is touching the one under the heel), and hold them like that for a minute or two so they get a little more broken in. If you want to break down the little rubber spikes on the soles, you can just press the toe of the shoe into the floor, and rub the shoes back and forth like you’re trying to squish a bug. Other than that, I think you just need to get used to the feel of your shoe. Good luck at your competiton!
